Popular Tanzanian artist Peter Msechu has released a tribute song titled “Ndugai Umelala”, to mourn the sudden death of former Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Job Ndugai. The song was released on August 7, 2025, just a day after the great leader passed away.

Hon. Job Yustino Ndugai was born on January 21, 1963, and served Tanzania diligently as Deputy Speaker (2010–2015) and Speaker (2015–2022). His legacy is now enshrined in history – and now in song.
“Ndugai Umelala” is not a typical Bongo Flava song – it is a national anthem, reflecting the heartbeat of a grieving people through the powerful voice of Peter Msechu.
