Marianne Namshali Mdee, popularly known as Mimi Mars, is a celebrated Tanzanian singer, actress, and media personality. Born on June 21, 1992, in Paris, France, and raised in Dar es Salaam, Mimi Mars is the daughter of former Tanzanian ambassador Sammy Mdee and the sister of renowned artist Vanessa Mdee. Mimi holds a Law degree (LL.B) from Kampala International University in Tanzania and has made significant strides in both music and acting since she began her career in 2017.

Mimi Mars burst onto the music scene with her hit single “Shuga” in 2017, which quickly garnered attention and set the stage for her subsequent successes. In 2018, she became the first Tanzanian female artist to release an EP titled “The Road,” featuring six tracks. Her work has seen her collaborate with notable names in East African music, including Barnaba Classic, AY, Marioo, and Nandy.
