Faustina Charles Mfinanga, widely known as Nandy, is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and actress born on November 9, 1992, in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania. With a rich heritage and a deep passion for music, Nandy began her musical journey at a young age, performing in her church choir. She gained widespread recognition after being introduced to Ruge Mutahaba, the CEO of Tanzania House of Talent (THT), where she recorded her breakthrough single “Nagusagusa.”
Nandy’s career soared with her participation in the Tecno Own The Stage competition in Lagos, Nigeria, where she was the first runner-up. This exposure, coupled with her successful single “One Day,” helped her secure a spot in Coke Studio Africa and win the Best Female Artist East Africa award at the 2017 All Africa Music Awards. In 2020, she was honored with the Best Female Artist award at the African Entertainment Awards USA. Beyond her music career, Nandy is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the WASH program, promoting clean water and sanitation globally.
