Faustina Charles Mfinanga, known by her stage name Nandy, is a celebrated Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and actress of Pare heritage, born on November 9, 1992. Raised in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Nandy’s musical journey began in her early years as an active member of her Sunday school choir at the KKKT Lutheran Church. Her stage name “Nandy” is derived from her real name, Nandera.

Nandy’s breakthrough came after participating in the Tecno Own the Stage competition in 2016, where she emerged as the first runner-up, gaining recognition and confidence. Her career took off with the release of her hit single “Nagusagusa,” produced by Emma the Boy, which quickly gained popularity. In 2017, her single “One Day” solidified her presence in the East African music scene, earning her multiple accolades, including Best Female Artist East Africa at the 2017 All Africa Music Awards.

Currently, Nandy serves as Tanzania’s Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF’s WASH program, advocating for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene across over 100 countries. Her commitment to social causes, coupled with her dynamic music career, has made her a powerful figure in the African entertainment industry.
