Zuhura Othman Soud, popularly known as Zuchu, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter born on November 22, 1993, in Zanzibar. Renowned for her contributions to the Bongo Flava and Baibuda genres, Zuchu is signed to WCB Wasafi, one of Tanzania’s leading record labels. She gained significant recognition with her debut EP, I Am Zuchu, released in 2020.

Zuchu’s impressive career includes numerous accolades, such as being the first East African female artist to surpass 500 million views on YouTube and the recipient of multiple awards at the Tanzania Music Awards in 2023. Her notable achievements also include winning the AFRIMMA Emerging Artist Award in 2020 and setting records on YouTube and Boomplay for her subscriber and streaming milestones.
Coming from a musical Swahili Zanzibari family, Zuchu’s early exposure to music was influenced by her mother, Khadija Kopa, a renowned Taarab musician. Her breakthrough came after being discovered by Diamond Platnumz, leading to her signing with WCB Wasafi in 2016. Zuchu’s career continues to thrive with hit singles and significant contributions to Tanzanian and East African music.
