Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman Soud on November 22, 1993, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is a prominent Bongo Flava and Baibuda artist. Renowned for her powerful voice and captivating performances, Zuchu has made a significant impact in the East African music scene. She is signed under WCB Wasafi, the label founded by Diamond Platnumz.

Zuchu’s music career began at an early age, influenced by her mother, the celebrated Taarab musician Khadija Kopa. Her breakthrough came in 2016 when Diamond Platnumz discovered her during an audition and signed her to WCB Wasafi. Zuchu’s debut EP, I Am Zuchu, was released in 2020 and includes hit tracks such as “Wana” and “Kwaru.”
She has achieved numerous accolades, including being the first East African female artist to surpass 500 million YouTube views and receiving the Silver Plaque Button for reaching 100,000 subscribers within a week. In 2023, Zuchu won five awards at the Tanzania Music Awards and earned five nominations at the Soundcity MVP Awards.
