In a somber turn of events, the Bongo Flava community is mourning the loss of renowned artist Mandojo, who passed away on August 11, 2024, in Dodoma. Mandojo, a beloved figure in the Tanzanian music scene, was confirmed dead by his close friend and fellow artist, Domokaya. Although the cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed, unverified reports suggest that Mandojo was fatally attacked by locals who mistook him for a thief.
Eyewitnesses report that an altercation occurred at a bar where Mandojo was present, leading to a misunderstanding and subsequent violence from the crowd. Despite being rescued by good Samaritans and taken to the hospital, Mandojo succumbed to his injuries.
Side Makini Blog has reached out to the Dodoma Regional Police Commander, Theopista Mallya, for an official statement. As of now, the police have not yet confirmed these details but are actively investigating the incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
