Born Joseph Mayanja on April 30, 1979, in Kampala, Uganda, Chameleone started out as a club DJ before joining Ogopa Deejays in Nairobi. His debut album “Mama Mia” (2000) redefined Ugandan music, and inspired many East African talents.

With international tours in the U.S., U.K., and Sweden, and numerous awards under his belt, Chameleone remains one of the few African musicians who balances fame, activism, and philanthropy with humility and purpose.
