Lava Lava, one of Tanzania’s up-and-coming bongo flava voices, has teamed up with DJ Awakening to present ‘Wanangu (Official Video)’ a soulful track from his new EP ‘Time’.

This song was released in August 2025 and marks a new era in Lava Lava’s career after his breakthrough with WCB Wasafi Records. Known for his smooth melodies and emotional stories, Lava Lava dedicates ‘Wanangu’ to his fans, whom he affectionately refers to as ‘my people’.
The collaboration with DJ Awakening adds a vibrant Afro sound layer to the track, making it both spiritual and danceable. As the EP’s opening track, ‘Wanangu’ builds tension and sets the stage for what promises to be Lava Lava’s most inspiring work to date.
