Bruce Africa, an emerging star from Tanzania, continues to redefine the Bongo Fleva genre with his new release, the Boyfriend Life EP. With roots in the church choir from the age of 7, Bruce honed his craft, later becoming a skilled guitarist. By 15, under his father’s guidance, he had mastered the guitar, which has been instrumental in shaping his unique sound.

Bruce Africa gained national recognition through the Bongo Star Search (BSS) competition (2019-2020, Season 11), where he impressed many by reaching the semi-finals. His professional journey began with Christian Bella’s group CBO, but in 2022, Bruce decided to pursue a solo career, releasing several successful songs such as “In Love,” “Falling Down,” and the hit “YOU”.
His latest release, the Boyfriend Life EP, is an emotional journey through love, life, and relationships. The EP, produced by DracoBeatz, Wambaga, and Lizer Classic, features notable collaborations with John Blaq, Vijana Barubaru, and G Nako. From the smooth, romantic vibes of “Siwezi” to the energetic beat of “I Can’t Kill Myself,” this EP is sure to resonate with Bongo Fleva fans across East Africa.
