Juma Mussa Mkambala, famously known as Jux or ‘African Boy,’ is a renowned Tanzanian artist and songwriter born on 1st September 1989, in Dar es Salaam. Jux, known for his R&B and Afro-pop hits, started his music journey at the age of 16 as a rapper. Signing with A.M Records in 2008, he transitioned to R&B, releasing multiple chart-topping songs like “Sugua” (featuring Diamond Platnumz) and “Juu” (featuring Vanessa Mdee). His unique style and vocal prowess have cemented his status as one of Tanzania’s highest-paid and most successful artists.

Jux’s career has been marked by numerous milestones, including awards and recognitions at the Tanzania Music Awards and AFRIMMA. His debut studio album, “The Love Album,” released in 2019, featured collaborations with top African artists and garnered over 1.3 million streams on Boomplay, solidifying its place as one of East Africa’s most streamed R&B albums. The lead single “Sugua” alone accumulated over 10 million views on YouTube.

Aside from music, Jux is also a fashion entrepreneur, launching his own clothing brand in 2018. The brand has gained popularity across East Africa and is set to expand further into Kenya.
