Zuhura Othman Soud, better known by her stage name Zuchu, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter who has made significant strides in the Bongo Flava and Baibuda genres. Born on November 22, 1993, in Zanzibar, Zuchu is the daughter of the legendary Zanzibari Taarab musician Khadija Kopa. Zuchu’s early exposure to music, coupled with her mother’s influence, shaped her into one of East Africa’s most successful female artists. Signed to the WCB Wasafi label, Zuchu quickly gained fame with her debut EP, I Am Zuchu, released in 2020.

Her achievements include being the first East African female artist to surpass 1 million YouTube subscribers within 11 months, and amassing over 500 million views on the platform, making her a trailblazer in the region’s music industry.
