Faustina Charles Mfinanga, better known as Nandy, is a renowned Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and actress born on November 9, 1992. Hailing from Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, Nandy is celebrated for her distinct blend of Bongo Fleva and Afro-pop. She rose to prominence with her hit single “Nagusagusa,” produced by Emma the Boy.

Nandy’s musical career began early in life, performing in church choirs and leading her school choir. Her big break came when she was introduced to Ruge Mutahaba of Tanzania House of Talent (THT), leading to her debut single. Her talent shone through in the “Tecno Own the Stage” competition in 2016, where she was the first runner-up.
With notable tracks like “One Day” and appearances on Coke Studio Africa, Nandy has earned accolades including Best Female Artist East Africa at the 2017 All Africa Music Awards, Best Female Newcomer at the 2018 AMI Awards Afrika, and Best Female Artist at the 2020 African Entertainment Awards USA. She also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF’s WASH program.
